\"\"Uniscribe is the Microsoft Windows set of services for rendering Unicode-encoded text, especially complex text layout. They are implemented in the DLL USP10.DLL. USP10.dll became available to the public with Windows 2000 and Internet Explorer 5.0.<\/p>\n

Although Uniscribe continues to be maintained, with Windows 7 its intended replacement DirectWrite was introduced, which has more features.<\/p>\n

USP is an initialism for Unicode Scripts Processor. The main purpose of Uniscribe includes the following:<\/p>\n

1. arranging input text from the input sequence to visual sequence.
\n2. substituting glyphs according to context (e.g. different forms of Mongolian\u00a0characters)
\n3. ordering displayed text based on text flow direction (e.g. LTR vs RTL, Horizontal vs Vertical)<\/p>\n

Although Uniscribe has been available since Windows 2000, new versions of Uniscribe provided more functions to the system, namely, support for other writing systems. An earlier update of it supports the display of Arabic and Hebrew, then Thai and Vietnamese. Since Windows XP, more South Asian and Assyrian alphabets are supported.<\/p>\n

The first generally available version of Uniscribe which included Tibetan script support was the one included in Microsoft Office 2003 SP2. The one which included Mongolian script support was the one included in Microsoft Windows Vista.<\/p>\n

Windows XP\/Server 2003 (R2) users must upgrade Uniscribe to support Mongolian or Tibetan scripts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is strongly recommended for Windows XP\/Server 2003 (R2) users to upgrade your operating system instead of Uniscribe.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Windows Vista\/7\/8\/8.1\/Server 2008 (R2)\/2012 (R2) users do not need to upgrade Uniscribe.<\/strong><\/span>

Microsoft Windows XP was available in Home and Professional editions, with the Home edition available as 32-bit only. The Professional edition was available as either 32-bit or 64-bit.\u00a0Two distinct editions of Windows XP were released to support 64-bit hardware.\u00a0Nearly all home users of Windows XP are using 32-bit (x86) edition.\u00a0If you are not sure, right-click My Computer<\/strong> and select Properties<\/strong> to open the system properties dialog box. If the operating system is listed as Windows XP Professional x64 Edition<\/strong>, the operating system\u00a0is 64-bit (x86-64 architecture); if it is listed\u00a0as\u00a0Windows XP Professional 64-bit Edition<\/strong>, it is 64-bit (IA-64 [Itanium] architecture); if it is listed\u00a0as Windows XP Professional Edition<\/strong> or Windows XP Home Edition<\/strong>, it is 32-bit.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong><\/em>: Please be very careful when following the steps below. A mistake may cause your computer unbootable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Complete. Reboot to see changes.<\/strong>

Press any key (for example, the space key<\/strong>) to quit.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong><\/em>: If you do not see the above windows, please run USP10.exe<\/strong> again.<\/p>\n

5. System File Protection will report that a system file was replaces. Please ignore it.<\/p>\n

6. Restart your computer.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong><\/em>: If the installation fails, please restart your computer. After the POST, press and hold F8<\/strong>\u00a0key, then select Safe Mode<\/strong>. Extract it to the desktop.<\/p>\n

2. Restart your computer. After the POST, press and hold F8<\/strong> key, then select\u00a0Safe Mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. In Safe Mode, open My Computer<\/strong>. Click Tools<\/strong>, then click Folder Options<\/strong>. In the View<\/strong> tab, check Show hidden files and folders<\/strong> and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)<\/strong>, ignore the warning (click Yes<\/strong>) and then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. Enter Windows\\System32\\dllcache<\/strong>, delete usp10.dll<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Enter Windows\\System32<\/strong>, delete usp10.dll<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

6. Copy usp10.dll<\/strong> (in USP10x86) to Windows\\System32<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

7. Copy usp10.dll<\/strong> (in USP10x86) to Windows\\System32\\dllcache<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

8. Open My Computer<\/strong>. Click Tools<\/strong>, then click Folder Options<\/strong>. In the View<\/strong> tab, uncheck Show hidden files and folders<\/strong> and check Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)<\/strong>, then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

9. Restart your computer.<\/p>\n

7. Open USP10x64\\Windows\\System32<\/strong>. Copy usp10.dll<\/strong> to Windows\\System32<\/strong> of your system.<\/p>\n

8. Open USP10x64\\Windows\\SysWOW64<\/strong>. Copy usp10.dll<\/strong> to Windows\\SysWOW64<\/strong> of your system.<\/p>\n

9. Open USP10x64\\Windows\\System32\\dllcache<\/strong>. Copy usp10.dll<\/strong> and wusp10.dll<\/strong> to Windows\\System32\\dllcache<\/strong> of your system.<\/p>\n

10. Open My Computer<\/strong>. Click Tools<\/strong>, then click Folder Options<\/strong>. In the View<\/strong> tab, uncheck Show hidden files and folders<\/strong> and check Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)<\/strong>, then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

11. Restart your computer.<\/p>\n
